A 2025 holiday shopping guide for the foodies in your life
It’s once AGAIN that time of year when you have to think about what to get your friends, family, and loved ones. In many ways, foodies can be the easiest people to shop for. Even if you don’t see your foodie friends during the rest of the year, chances are, thanks to Instagram, Facebook, etc., you know what they’ve been eating and drinking. Or maybe you are a foodie yourself?
Either way, from Dubai Chocolate to the most creative cookie-infused ice cream pints, here’s a 2025 holiday shopping guide for the foodies in your life.
La Tourangelle White Truffle Oil & Black Truffle Oil Set
The La Tourangelle brand dates back to 1867. Based in the small city of Woodlawn, less than 10 miles west of Sacramento International Airport, this family-owned business is known for California extra virgin olive oil, but also sells a dozen other oils, not counting black and white truffle, which are available individually and as a two-pack. While most are available individually on Amazon, you can find gift options on the website, including the Favorites Trio and Limited Edition Olive Oil & Tote Gift Set.
Carmine’s Tomato Sauces
In 2025, Carmine’s celebrated its 35th anniversary at the Upper West Side location where it all started in 1990. If you’re not close enough to one of the six locations (Atlantic City, D.C., Las Vegas, NYC, and The Bahamas), you can still get the sauces shipped via the online store. The marinara sauce is included in the deluxe gift basket, which also includes cookware, an autographed cookbook, and the same penne and rigatoni served in the restaurant(s). The marinara and the other three sauces are sold in grocery stores, mainly along the Acela Express route from D.C. into New England.
Clementine’s Ice Cream Holiday Cookie Exchange
St. Louis is a criminally underrated food city. While Imo’s Pizza is hit-or-miss depending on your enjoyment of provel cheese, there’s also the toasted ravioli and some of the best barbecue outside of Texas. And then there’s Clementine’s Ice Cream. There are more than 10 locations in Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas. They ship 10 of their ice cream and sorbet pints as well as another St. Louis signature, Gooey Butter Cake, via Goldbelly. Speaking of Gooey Butter Cake, that’s one of their four best-selling pints, which you can order together all year.
While Clementine’s is also known for boozy flavors (the ‘naughty‘ in ‘naughty and nice’), it’s during the holidays when you can really count on them to get creative. And 2025 is no exception with the Holiday Cookie Exchange. Each flavor comes from a chef, with Abi’s Pandan Polvoron Raspberry Cheesecake Cookie taking the unofficial prize. Buttery pandan polvoron cookie bites are mixed into rich cream cheese ice cream, with tangy raspberry ribbon swirled throughout.
Ladurée’s 2025 Advent Calendar
Ladurée’s 2025 Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar contains a mix of chocolates and Eugénie cookies. Each of the 24 confections is placed behind a dated slot. While calendars will be available in select stores, you can order Holiday Pampille macaron boxes of 16 or 28 via Goldbelly.
FRE Alcohol-Removed Wines
Whether you refer to them as mocktails or zero-proof cocktails, one thing is for sure: They’re on nearly every drink menu nowadays. And the even better news is that alcohol-removed wines are becoming a thing as well. While not yet on a plethora of restaurant wine lists, FRE’s 10 different options are available via the online store, with 750 ml bottles costing between $10 and $11. They are also easy to find in the Western United States in stores like Safeway and Smith’s. You can find dozens of mocktail recipes on the FRE website.
Rubirosa Pasta Sampler
Rubirosa is one of Lower Manhattan’s best pizza spots, and it also serves excellent pasta dishes. And thanks to their pasta sampler, you can recreate some of their signature pasta dishes at home, including the Lumache alla Vodka and Rubirosa Ragu. The pasta sampler includes one pound each of three bite-sized cuts that most diners may have to Google search: fusilli, lumache, and reginetti. If the person you’re shopping for hasn’t mastered making their own sauce, several shipping combos are available that include marinara, vodka sauce, or both.
Rubirosa has an online store with recipes. You can also buy their sauces, pastas, and olive oil on Amazon.
Roberta’s Still Cookin’ cookbook
Roberta’s opened in 2008, just a block from the Morgan Avenue L train station in Bushwick, and has since branched out to Midtown Manhattan, Los Angeles County, and Singapore (to name a few). Like the Bushwick it helped transform, Robert’s is no longer Brooklyn’s best-kept secret. Instead, it’s a global brand with frozen pizzas in Whole Foods and cookbooks, including Still Cookin’, which is a follow-up to their 2013 debut. Still Cookin’ is available in their online merch store by itself, or for an additional $5, you can get it with a small bottle of Roberta’s chili oil.
As Roberta’s has branched out to a brunch menu replete with several small plates (at the Penn Plaza location), it’s fitting that in addition to pizza, you’ll also find cocktail and pasta recipes among the 256 pages. Crab bucatini, anyone? How about clam tagliatelle?
Lovetta Dubai Chocolate
Dubai chocolate is all the rage, with established chocolate brands like Lindt and Ghirardelli feeling the need to offer their own versions of chocolate filled with pistachio cream, shredded phyllo dough, and tahini. Lovetta’s four-ounce bar made it onto Tasting’s Tables 2025 list of Dubai Chocolate Bars You Can Buy In The US and is available via their website alongside their other knafeh and strawberry-filled bars. While many Dubai chocolate bars are softer inside, Lovetta’s stands out for its crunchy texture, similar to that of a Butterfinger bar.
When it comes to stores, Lovetta bars are easiest to find in the Southeastern United States, especially Florida, where you can find them in Publix locations. They’re also available on Amazon.
